HALRIC intensifies the efforts to involve more companies in pilot projects

Following a successful 'HALRIC meets Industry' workshop by Life Science Nord in Hamburg, October 2024 marked a significant boost to HALRIC’s industry engagement efforts. Veronica Lattanzi and Francesco Bez have joined the project team and are set to play crucial roles in HALRIC’s mission to deepen industry ties and increase participation in pilot projects from new user groups.

HALRIC kicks off mapping of Life Science Research Infrastructures

To facilitate cross-border collaboration and more efficient use of resources, HALRIC is mapping Research Infrastructures in the ÖKS-Hamburg Region. The mapping is expected to be a desirable tool to help different user groups to identify and gain access to a wide range of resources, services, and facilities.

Early March, Universitätsklinikum Hamburg Eppendorf (UKE) facilitated a workshop to familiarize clinical researchers with HALRIC. The first HALRIC pilot-project involving clinical researchers from Rigshospitalet kicked off in February and it addresses the feasibility of using Micro-CT to optimize surgical precision in oral cancer.

New HALRIC pilot projects involve Life Science industry partners

HALRIC has approved four new pilot projects with partners from all the countries in the consortium. New cross-border teams will work towards developing new technologies or better understanding detailed mechanisms of specific proteins, bacterial resistance towards antibiotics or of diseases such as ischemic stroke and Alzheimer’s disease.

The first HALRIC pilot project will combine clinical resources in Skåne with proteomic and bio-analytical experience in Copenhagen, to characterise proteomic changes within human atherosclerotic plaques. Atherosclerosis is the major cause of cardiovascular disease and responsible for ~40% of all deaths in developed countries.
A week devoted to EU-activities featuring HALRIC!
