Call for projects: Boost your Life Science project

Apply by 2 June with your Life Science project idea and get access to experts and top-tier research infrastructures with HALRIC.

 

Did you know that HALRIC has already supported over 50 Life Science projects across the Öresund-Kattegat-Skagerrak (ÖKS)-Hamburg region, helping researchers and innovators bring ambitious ideas to life?

From early-stage exploration to hands-on validation and advanced data work, HALRIC supports every step of your Life Science journey. Beyond funding, HALRIC opens the door to:

  • Unique access to advanced research infrastructures offering cutting-edge techniques like mass spectrometry, spatial proteomics, cryo-EM, and more.
  • Expert support for everything from sample prep to data analysis
  • Cross-border collaboration that connects academia, hospitals, and industry

How to Apply?

We welcome applications from life science projects that:

  • Involve HALRIC’s partners across national borders in the ÖKS-Hamburg region. Collaboration with industry and/or clinics are strongly encouraged.
  • Use at least one research infrastructure

Most pilot projects run for 6 months, with typical support of €80,000 total (≈ €30,000 reimbursed). Projects with different durations or budgets are also welcome.

About HALRIC

The Hanseatic Life Science Research Infrastructure Consortium (HALRIC) boosts innovation in the Life Science sector across Denmark, Germany, Norway, and Sweden by providing access to cutting-edge research infrastructures, including MAX IV, ESS, DESY, and European XFEL. Funded by the EU Interreg Öresund-Kattegat-Skagerrak programme, HALRIC supports cross-border collaboration through pilot projects that bring together academia, hospitals, and industry. The consortium also pioneers data handling solutions via the Hanseatic Science Cloud, helping partners manage the massive datasets generated by advanced research.
